Research Interests

Artie Konrad is a mixed-methods researcher focused on memory, health, behavior change, and technology.

He studies how people reflect on their digital past—and how thoughtfully designed systems can improve well-being, shape memory, and interact with mood. He helped develop Facebook’s “On This Day,” one of the most widely used memory products in the world.

Artie also brings deep expertise in behavior change science, helping teams design products that people actually stick with to achieve their goals. He believes most health products fail not because people don’t care about their health, but because the tools don’t account for how humans actually change.

Artie holds a Ph.D. in Cognitive Psychology from UC Santa Cruz. He is currently a UX Researcher on the Wearables team at Meta Reality Labs, where he has worked on over a dozen health products, and helped bring multiple AI-powered devices to market, including the Meta Ray-Ban Displays. He has been at Meta since 2016.
